Girl:
I dreamed of my sisters again.
They wore their hair short, in a boyish curve.
The eldest had eyes of an unusual shade, like the pale gray of overnight snow.
There was the dagger.
Quick.
Unstained.
Do it before the moon goes down, you have less than an hour, said my sister.
I was in my bed, surrounded by the soft whispers of my owns.
The Sea was calling to me.
When I woke up.
I found the dagger under my pillow.
It was very cold.
I shivered with a single touch,
And I felt my will being withdrawn from my spine as the tide rushed towards the moon.
Prince:
That night, I heard strange voices in the palace.
Not evil ones, that I can assure you.
I got up and sat in my bed
I thought that I heard the Mute Girl's voice, then laughed at my own thougt.
My heart paced, anticipating an event.
As I fell dizzy
By the repeating waves of the sea that brushed against the beach under my window,
I saw, for a short instant, the silver reflection of a cutting blade.
It runned down through my forehead, my chest, my limbs...all the way into my dream.
When I gained conscience again, it was dawn.
A rosy light filled the sky, embroidered with golden annd violet stripes of clouds.
I remembered something and ran to the next room, where I told the Mute Girl to sleep.
There was only a lock of hair on her pillow.
The rest of her being disappeared into thin air.
I don't know if it was the salty smell of the wind, or the blinding morning light, I had tears in my eyes.
Girl:
I watched him as he approached the window.
He didn't hear my voice.
He didn't feel me.
Just like the first day we met.
Then, a breeze came and carried me to the sun.
